What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return, the browser sends it back, which lets the site recognise your device, keep you signed in and remember the choices you have made. Cookies set by us are first-party cookies; cookies set by a service we use to run part of the site are third-party cookies.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way, such as pixels in e-mails and on web pages, software kits in mobile apps, and local storage in your browser. Where this policy says cookies, it means all of these.
We use them for four broad reasons:
- Running the site. Signing you in, keeping your session active as you move between pages, and loading content correctly on your device.
- Keeping accounts safe. Spotting unusual sign-in attempts, protecting the cashier forms, and limiting automated abuse of our systems.
- Improving what we offer. Understanding which pages are slow, where players lose their way, and which features are actually used.
- Measuring our marketing. Seeing which campaigns bring players to the site and avoiding showing the same message over and over.
As a licensed operator we must confirm that every account holder is aged 18 or over and that the details we hold are accurate. Strictly necessary cookies help keep that process secure, but the age and identity checks themselves are not carried out by cookies.
The categories of cookies we use
The table below summarises the categories used on the site. Strictly necessary cookies are always active. The other three are set only if you agree to them in the cookie notice, and you can change your mind at any time.
| Category | Typical purpose | Set only with your consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in sessions, security, fraud prevention, remembering your cookie choices | No |
| Performance and analytics | Counting visits, measuring page speed, finding errors | Yes |
| Functionality | Language, display and account preferences | Yes |
| Marketing | Measuring campaigns and capping how often adverts appear | Yes |
Strictly necessary cookies
These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off through our cookie notice. They keep you signed in as you move between the lobby, the cashier and your account, spread traffic across our servers, protect forms against misuse, and store the cookie preferences you have given so that we do not ask the same question on every page.
Performance and analytics cookies
These tell us how the site is used in aggregate: how many people land on a page, how long pages take to load, which steps in a form are abandoned, and where error messages appear. The reporting we see is grouped and statistical. We use it to fix faults and to decide which parts of the site need work, not to make decisions about individual accounts.
Functionality cookies
These remember choices that make the site easier to use, such as your language, whether you prefer a list or a grid, sound settings and the sections you opened last. They also help us present your safer gambling tools consistently, for example by holding the right screens in place while you set a limit. The limits themselves, and any time-out or self-exclusion you ask for, are held on your account and are not affected by cookies.
Marketing cookies
These help us judge whether our advertising is useful and cap how often the same message is shown. They may record that you arrived from a particular campaign, or that you have already completed a step so that we do not promote it again. We do not use them to direct gambling adverts at anyone who has asked to be excluded, or at anyone under 18.
How to manage cookies
You have two controls: our cookie notice and your browser.
In the cookie notice on this site
- Open the cookie settings shown in the footer of any page, or use the notice that appears on your first visit.
- Choose the categories you are happy with. Strictly necessary cookies stay on, because the site cannot run without them.
- Save your choice. We store it in a cookie so that the notice does not reappear on every page.
- Return to the same settings whenever you like to widen or withdraw your consent. Changes apply from the moment you save them.
In your browser
Every current browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them and block some or all of them. The controls usually sit under settings for privacy, security or site data, and mobile browsers use the same headings. Common options include:
- Deleting cookies already stored on your device.
- Blocking third-party cookies while allowing first-party ones.
- Blocking all cookies, which will stop you signing in.
- Clearing cookies automatically each time you close the browser, or using a private window.
What happens if you block or delete cookies
Not every cookie is optional. If you block strictly necessary cookies, or delete them part-way through a session, the site may not work fully.
- You may be unable to sign in, or be signed out when you open a new page.
- The cashier may not complete a deposit or withdrawal request.
- Verification steps may have to be started again from the beginning.
- Language, display and other preferences will be forgotten on each visit.
- The cookie notice will appear again, because the record of your choice is itself a cookie.
Blocking performance, functionality or marketing cookies has a smaller effect. The site will still work, but it will be less tailored to you and we will have less information to find and fix faults.
Changes to this policy and how to reach us
We may update this policy when the cookies on the site change, when the services we rely on change, or when the guidance we follow is updated. The version on this page is always the current one, and we will flag significant changes through the cookie notice or a message to your account.
If you want to know more about a particular cookie, how long it lasts or what it is used for, write to us at support@casinobilucky.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Please tell us which page you were on and which browser you were using, so that we can check the right records and give you a clear answer.
